Step Into Your Greatness - 06.21.2025

June 07, 2025

Not everything belongs at the front.

I hit a wall recently.
Not the dramatic, fall-to-the-floor kind—
but the quiet, soul-tired kind that whispers:

“Mick, this is too much.”

The calendar was overflowing.
Margin? Gone.
All that was left: fatherhood and work.
And while those are sacred… that’s not enough.

So I started asking questions.
Hard ones.

What actually belongs in this season?
What’s taking up space that no longer deserves it?

And what I realized is this:

“Not everything belongs at the front of the fridge.”

Some things need to stay visible.
Some go in the back.
Some go in the freezer.
And some? They need to be thrown out completely.

This week, I shared updates on LinkedIn—a mix of raw reflections, leadership truths, and purpose-fueled invitations:

  • A post about fatherhood, and why being Dad is the most important title I’ll ever hold
  • A metaphor about the fridge (yes, really) and the hard work of letting go
  • The official launch of Four 1 Purpose—a peer group for business owners building something bigger than themselves
  • And some honest truths about what it means to hit a wall, pause, and reset

What I'm Learning

We don’t settle because we’re lazy—
we settle because we’re capable.
But capability can keep us comfortable.
And comfort often costs us the unbelievable.

If we want to live on purpose,
we need to make room for it.

Poll: What’s Taking Up Space for You?

Purpose Activation Challenge: Do a Fridge Audit. Today.

Open a journal. Or your notes app.

Write down these four things:

  1. What belongs at the front?
  2. What can move to the back?
  3. What goes in the freezer?
  4. What needs to be thrown out?

Then—do something.
Move one thing.
Toss one thing.
Even one step matters.

And I’d love to know what shifted.

June 07, 2025 Everything we’ve built started with a question. What truly matters? Not: How fast can we scale? Not: What’s trending? Not: How do we go viral? But: What actually matters? This week, I’ve been reflecting on the stories behind the brands. The 100 Year Manifesto. Purpose Fueled. Best Lunch Ever. Purpose in Action. They’re not random projects. They’re chapters of the same story. My story. Your story. Each one was built out of loss, love, and longing for something more meaningful. And...

June 07, 2025 What if legacy isn’t a "someday" thing? You don’t have to be a great photographer to capture something beautiful. The light does the work. The stillness helps you see it. That’s what I was reminded of on my walk this week. I’ve been “working” on my photography for nine years now—not to improve a skill, but to become more present. That simple rhythm of daily photos has reshaped my definition of success. Maybe success isn’t more. Maybe it’s deeper.Maybe it’s one honest...

June 07, 2025 Leadership is presence, purpose, and people. Over the past week, I’ve been reminded again and again that real leadership isn’t flashy—it’s intentional. It’s showing up when it’s uncomfortable. It’s locking in when distractions want to pull you away. It’s making blankets with strangers because kindness matters. It’s saying yes to something bigger than you—like writing a book you never planned to write. This week, I saw it everywhere: In my son. In a brewery full of leaders...
