Step Into Your Greatness - 07.05.2025

June 07, 2025

What if legacy isn’t a "someday" thing?

You don’t have to be a great photographer to capture something beautiful. The light does the work. The stillness helps you see it.

That’s what I was reminded of on my walk this week.

I’ve been “working” on my photography for nine years now—not to improve a skill, but to become more present. That simple rhythm of daily photos has reshaped my definition of success.

Maybe success isn’t more. Maybe it’s deeper.
Maybe it’s one honest conversation.
One peaceful moment.
One clear yes.
One brave no.

This week, that’s been my rhythm—especially as I’ve said yes to things that matter and let go of the things that don’t.

From conversations about a new kind of church, to creating space for others, to being fully present with my son, Macallister—this has been a week of clarity.

This week, I shared updates on LinkedIn…

  • I reflected on how a daily photo practice has reshaped how I define success—and how stillness leads to clarity.
  • I introduced the idea of Conversations Church—a space for faith conversations that center on questions more than answers.
  • I reframed asking for help as a way to let others live out their purpose, and shared how I’m aligning my schedule for this new season of fatherhood.
  • I wrote about how purpose gives us permission to say no, so we can protect our deepest yes.
  • I highlighted a quiet moment of support and generosity as my friend Sally Phu hosted a global event from my office.
  • I shared a reflection on how legacy shows up in the small, everyday choices we make between the holidays.

What I'm Learning

I used to think legacy was something you leave behind.

Now I think it’s something you live.

And that means saying yes to what aligns, and no to what drains.

It means receiving help as an act of humility, not weakness.

It means paying attention to the moments that feel light—and the ones that feel heavy.

Peace follows clarity. And clarity starts with presence.

Poll: What does living your legacy look like right now?

Purpose Activation Challenge: Protect One "Yes" This Week

Here’s the challenge:

1. Choose one thing that truly matters to you—
…and protect it with a clear, purposeful “no.”

Examples:

  • Block time for your kids—and turn down one extra meeting
  • Say no to a distraction so you can focus on what fuels you
  • Cancel something that no longer aligns
  • Step away from the noise so you can hear your own clarity

2. Then do it.

✅ Say the no

✅ Honor the yes

✅ Notice what shifts

3. Reflect: What did you gain by protecting what matters?

💬 Let me know.

Tag me on LinkedIn or reply to this email.

I’d love to hear what changed when you said yes—on purpose.

Stay Connected

Legacy isn’t loud.
It’s found in the still moments—
The way you slow down, pay attention, and show up with intention.

You don’t need a spotlight to make an impact.
Just a clear yes.
A brave no.
And the courage to live what matters—today.

And if this hit home, forward it to someone who’s building something that lasts.

Let’s live the quiet legacy—together.

June 07, 2025 Everything we’ve built started with a question. What truly matters? Not: How fast can we scale? Not: What’s trending? Not: How do we go viral? But: What actually matters? This week, I’ve been reflecting on the stories behind the brands. The 100 Year Manifesto. Purpose Fueled. Best Lunch Ever. Purpose in Action. They’re not random projects. They’re chapters of the same story. My story. Your story. Each one was built out of loss, love, and longing for something more meaningful. And...

June 07, 2025 Leadership is presence, purpose, and people. Over the past week, I’ve been reminded again and again that real leadership isn’t flashy—it’s intentional. It’s showing up when it’s uncomfortable. It’s locking in when distractions want to pull you away. It’s making blankets with strangers because kindness matters. It’s saying yes to something bigger than you—like writing a book you never planned to write. This week, I saw it everywhere: In my son. In a brewery full of leaders...

June 07, 2025 Not everything belongs at the front. I hit a wall recently. Not the dramatic, fall-to-the-floor kind—but the quiet, soul-tired kind that whispers: “Mick, this is too much.” The calendar was overflowing.Margin? Gone. All that was left: fatherhood and work. And while those are sacred… that’s not enough. So I started asking questions.Hard ones. What actually belongs in this season? What’s taking up space that no longer deserves it? And what I realized is this: “Not everything belongs...
